TUNISIAN ENVOY TO FACILITATE TOURISM INVESTMENT IN NTB



Mataram, March 6 (ANTARA) - Tunisian Ambassador to Indonesia Faysal Gouia has said he was ready to facilitate investment in the tourism sector in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) province.

Faysal Gouia made the remark at a meeting with NTB Governor Zainul Majdi at Kuta Beach resort in Lombok Tengah district on Friday night," NTB provincial administration spokesman Lalu Mohamad Faozal said here on Saturday.

Faozal, who accompanied Governor Zainul Majdi at the meeting with the Tunisian envoy, said Tunisian investors have wider opportunity to invest in Lombok island.

The investment opportunity for Tunisian investors was disclosed by the country's envoy but not explicitly mentioned the kind of investors and the time of investment.

"If Pak Governor visits Tunisia, I will be ready to introduce him to the country's investors who have interest to invest in Lombok," Faozal quoted the Tunisian ambassador as saying.

In a dialog with the Tunisian envoy, Governor Zainul Majdi admitted that he frequently read about Tunisian products and wanted to visit the country someday.

Zainul Majdi's desire to visit Tunisia was positively welcomed by Faysal Gouia who promised to introduce the governor with Tunisian investors in tourism sector and the country's government elements.

The envoy also said Tunisia was a consistent country with tourism and education sectors.

He said tourism sector in Tunisia got a lot of progress and therefore the country was visited by tourists from Europe and other countries every year.

In education sector, the country with 10 million population also paid its serious attention and gave free education for its people.

During his visit to NTB, The Tunisian envoy also took a few minutes of his time to inspect State Secondary School (SMPN-2) in Mataram on Friday afternoon.

The visit to NTB was part of the visit by foreign countries embassies officials to various areas in Indonesia.
