ADDITIONAL BY-LAWS MULLED FOR CLEANLINESS IN KL
KUALA LUMPUR, March 6 (Bernama) -- Additional by-laws related to cleanliness
and hygiene might have to be introduced to get people in this city to be more
responsible on these two matters, said Federal Territories and Urban Wellbeing
Minister Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin.
He said Kuala Lumpur might have to emulate the policies of Singapore in the
question of cleanliness if it wanted to be a first class city besides giving a
good image to investors and tourists.
"It's like when Malaysians go to Singapore, there they are afraid of getting
caught for littering but when back in Malaysia the fear is no longer there.
"It all boils down to attitude, so if we want to make Kuala Lumpur a first
class city, we need to change this," he said when officiating the Kuala Lumpur
Cleanliness Day 2010 here Saturday.
