STATE HEAD'S RURAL TOUR ENDS

Ulaanbaatar,/MONTSAME/ President Ts.Elbegdorj worked in the western aimags from February 27 to March 4, 2010. He visited Bayankhongor, Zavkhan, Gobi-Altai, Khovd, Uvs, Khovsgol and Orkhon aimags reaching out to remote soums in the country's far west to learn in reality what challenges and difficulties has the dzud disaster been incurring.
The situation in Darvi soum of Gobi-Altai aimag, Bulgan soum in Khovd aimag, the border area at Altai and Uyench, Zuungovi soum of Uvs aimag and Tarialan soum of Khovsgol aimag was especially hard. President Elbegdorj visited herders' households and held meetings with citizens, herders and the authorities of the local governments.
Head of the Office of the President Mr. D. Dorligjav, President's Advisor on Urban and Rural Development Policy Mr. L. Erkhembayar, Vice Minister for Finance Mr. T. Ochirkhuu, Vice Minister for Food, Agriculture and Light Industries Mr. Kh. Zoljargal accompanied the President and were introducing the government's policies, programs and actions on the issues of particular concern to the rural population and carefully listened to the rural communities ideas, viewpoints and concerns, as one of the main goals of the President's work in the countryside was to learn of and reflect in the state policies the citizens' ideas and opinions.
