The road passing through the bridge will have four lanes, two in opposite directions and an 80 centimeters wide lane for pedestrians on both sides.
Antonius said the government's plan to allocate Rp150 billion for the project had been proposed by Maluku Governor Karel Albert Ralahalu to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono during his visit to Ambon on the occasion of World Peace day on November 25, 2009.
"The president directly requested the Minister of Public Works to provide the fund for the project," he said, adding that the minister had also promised to seek overseas grants so that the project could be realized in the next three or four years.
"The National Development Planning Agency has also listed the project to be funded by foreign loan," Antonius said.***
