54 SUBDISTRICTS IN W JAVA PRONE TO FLASH FLOODS
Bandung, W Java, Indonesia, March 7 (ANTARA) - A total of 54 subdistricts in West Java are highly prone to flash floods in the rainy season of March 2010.
"The sensitivity of almost all the areas on the map prone of land movements and flash flood in 17 regencies in West Java had increased, especially in the southern parts of the province," Head of the Geological Disaster Vulcanology and Mitigation Center (PVMBG)Surono said here Sunday.
He said some of the landslide prone areas in Garut are located in Cikaledong, Pameungpeuk, Cisompet, Samarang, Kadungora, Bayongbong, Cisurupan, Ciawitali, Cikajang and in some other subdistricts.
Some of the landslide prone areas in Cianjur are Pacet, Cigenang, Cibeber, Sukaresmi, Argabinta, Naringgul, Campaa, Sindangbarang and some others.***
