ACEH READY TO IMPLEMENT NATIONAL SCHOOL EXAMINATION
Banda Aceh, INDONESIA, March 8 (ANTARA) - The Aceh provincial government is ready to ensure the smooth conduct of the upcoming national examination (UN) to be participated in by 70,427 students across Aceh, a spokesman said.
"We have completed the necessary preparations for the national school examination and we are optimistic it will run smoothly and as scheduled," Aceh education office secretary Zulkifli Saidi said here on Monday.
He said the examination materials had been printed and were scheduled to be distributed to all districts and municipalities in Aceh on March 19, 2010.
According to Zulkifli, 60,383 students from senior high schools and 10,054 others from vocational schools would participate in the 2010 national examination in Aceh province.
He said the test materials were expected to reach the respective schools at least one or two days before the date of the national examination on March 22, 2010.
"March 22 has been set as the date of the main national examination because there will also be a make up test whose schedule has yet to be decided," Zulkifli said.
He added that there was no problem in the schools and the students preparation for the test because the local education office had made familiarization to all districts and municipalities in the province.
"The familiarization is made for all education officials, teachers, parents, and the students across Aceh, and thus it is expected to make the process of national test smooth," Zulkifli said, adding that there were no longer pros and cons against the national examination in Aceh.***
