ASTRA SHARES BOOST BEI INDEX TO OVER 2,600 POINTS
Jakarta, March 8 (ANTARA) - The Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) at the Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI) here on Monday morning got off to a strong start on automotive industry Astra International gains.
The BEI index went up 22.798 points or 0.88 percent to 2,601.562 and the LQ-45 index rose 5.313 points or 1.02 percent to 507,552.
External factors such as Wall Street gains which affected regional bourses, also boosted the Indonesian stock market, according to Alfiansyah, a foreign exchange analyst of PT Sinarmas Securities.
Some 2.6 million shares worth Rp91.28 billion of PT Astra International were traded, with each share valued Rp38,050 per shares, up Rp1,250 per share.
Astra Agro Lestari shares climbed Rp300 to Rp24,000, United Tractor shares added Rp100 to Rp16,950, and Bukit Asam shares advanced Rp400 to Rp24,000.***
