S.BATBOLD STARTS HIS WORKING VISIT TO AUSTRIA


Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ Prime Minister of Mongolia S.Batbold started his working visit on Sunday to the Republic of Austria. In frames of the visit, he met with Mr Antonio Maria Costa, an Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Director-General of the United Nations Office in Vienna (UNOV).
At the meeting, the Premier mentioned about the 50th anniversary of enrollment of Mongolia in the UN to be celebrated in 2011, and underlined that Mongolia and the UN have cooperated fruitfully. The Prime Minister thanked the UN's side for a decision to make an appeal on helping Mongolian herdsmen through the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA). Batbold mentioned that Mongolia became one of a few countries to voluntarily attend an experimental program on controlling over the realization of the UN Convention against Corruption.
Then he proposed UN to improve a legal environment for combating against corruption, strengthen capabilities of organizations engaged in banning the import of false medicine, provide with necessary facilities limiting drug plants harvest and to develop methodological cooperation with the UN. These proposals were appreciated by the UN.
The Prime Minister granted the Golden Gerege--the symbol of Mongolian diplomatic service--to Mr Costa for keeping in the UNOV.
The Mongolian delegation comprises J.Enkhsaikhan, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Republic of Austria and a permanent representative to the UN; S.Bayartsogt, the Minister of Finance; R.Bud and Ch.Saikhanbileg MPs; O.Och, an advisor to the Prime Minister on foreign policy; D.Tsogtbaatar, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Sh.Odonbaatar, a director of the Foreign Ministry's Department of Europe; R.Altangerel, a director of the State Diplomatic Protocol Department, and other officials.
