Monument to Marshal Zhukov to be renovated by May 9.

MOSCOW, March 10 (Itar-Tass) - A monument to Marshal Georgy Zhukov, a
Soviet military leader, located on Manezhnaya Square in the centre of
Moscow will be renovated by May 9.

A source at the prefecture of the Moscow Central Administrative
District said on Tuesday that seams on the monument's pedestal would be
mended.
The last renovation took place three years ago after the monument had
begun to tilt washed by ground waters. Its pedestal was reinforced and the
water isolation improved.
The monument to Marshal of the Soviet Union Georgy Zhukov was unveiled
on May 8, 1995 in front of the History Museum on the occasion of the
50th anniversary of Russia's Victory in the Great Patriotic War
(1941-1945).
Zhukov is depicted sitting on horseback.

.Bosnia harbors rich oil reserves but politics prevents development.

BELGRADE, March 10 (Itar-Tass) - The cost of oil reserves in Bosnian
oil deposits is estimated at dozens of billions of dollars but politics
has so far been a hindrance to their development, the Serbian news agency
TANJUG reported on Tuesday.
Last week , Milorad Dodik, the prime minister of the Serbian Republic
in Bosnia and Herzegovina, said that his government was ready to conclude
a concession contract with Russian companies Zarubezhneft and Gazpromneft
for prospecting and exploitation of the oil and gas fields.
TANJUG recalls that in 1989 , two years before the former Yugoslavia
disintegrated, four major deposits habouring about 50 million tons or 366
barrels of oil were prospected in the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
With existing world prices the cost of these deposits is estimated at 27
billion dollars. One deposit (near the town of Lopar) is in the Serbian
Republic, the second (near the city of Tuzla) is in the territory of the
Muslim-Croatian Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The remaining two
deposits are located in border areas.
Simultaneous exploitation of all the four deposits could be profitable
for foreign companies but will be impossible if the government of the
Serbian Republic and the Federation don't reach an agreement.
