CHINESE COMPANIES TO HOLD CONSTRUCTION EXHIBITION IN JAKARTA
Jakarta, March 10 (ANTARA) - Chinese companies are to hold a construction exhibition titled China Build 2010 in Jakarta on May 26-29, to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Indonesia-China bilateral relations, a source said.
Vice Chairman at the Senior Engineer China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), Zang Xiaolin, said the upcoming exhibition was a strategy to enter Indonesia's construction sector after the implementation of the ASEAN-China Free Trade Agreement (ACFTA) in early 2010.
"The exhibition will be participated in by around 70 Chinaese construction companies," he said here on Wednesday adding that the exhibition would present equipment and machinery for construction and mining purposes as well as building materials.
The event would also present some of Chinese construction projects namely Three Gorges barrage for electricity, irrigation and transportation purposes; railroad from Qinghai to Tibet, Wu Gang high speed railroad, China National Grand Theater building, Shanghai TV Oriental Pearl tower, Olympic games building in China.
Zang said the event would also involve the Indonesian Construction Association (ICA) and other local companies.
He explained the seminars were not only promoting Chinaese construction products but also present investment policy in Indonesia and future infrastructure projects in the next five years.
The Chinese Trade and Economy Attache to Indonesia, Fang Qiu Chen, said the exhibition would mark 60 years of Indonesia-China relations.
