BEI INDEX OPENS SLIGHTLY LOWER

Jakarta, March 11 (ANTARA) - The Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) at the Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI) here on Thursday morning got off to a weak start.

The BEI index went down 0.14 percent or 3.801 points to 2,666.419 points and the LQ-45 index fell 0.25 percent or 1.320 point to 521.203 points.

The market was still positive towards traded shares, but investors wanted to take profit, according to Krisna Dwi Setiawan, a research analyst of PT Valbury Asia Securities.

Mining industry Bumi shares went down Rp25 to Rp2,450 per share, Astra Inter shares fell Rp300 to Rp24,650, Indo Tambang Mega shares declined Rp150 to Rp32,000, and Bukit Asam shares lost Rp100 to Rp16,000.
