MEMORANDUM SIGNED BETWEEN MONGOLIA AND CANADA
Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ Memorandum has been established between Mongolia's Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy and Canada's Ministry of Minerals and Metals Sector on putting into use mines, making rehabilitations, exchanging information about standards of types of mineral resources and geo-sciences, and developing cooperation.
The memorandum was inked by B.Ariunsan, Vice-Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, and by Stephen Lucas, Assistant Deputy Minister of Minerals and Metals Sector, during the World Mining Forum (PDAC-2010) held March 7-10 in Toronto, Canada.
A round table meeting for investors was also co-organized March 9 by the Mineral Resources Authority of Mongolia (MRA), the Embassy of Mongolia in Canada, and the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada (DFAIT). At this meeting, T.Zalaa-Uul, Mongolia's Ambassador to Canada, and Ariunsan gave speeches.
Both the PDAC-2010 and the round table meeting brought together D.Batkhuyag, a head of the MRA, and officials of the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy and the MRA.
