.RF, Ukraine FMs to discuss relations, Medvedev visit.

MOSCOW, March 16 (Itar-Tass) - Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs
Sergei Lavrov meets with his Ukrainian counterpart Konstantin Grishchenko
here on Tuesday to discuss prospects for the development of bilateral
relations and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev's forthcoming visit to
Kiev.
Analysts note Ukraine's striving to normalize relations with Russia,
the relations that stood a serious test during the presidency of Viktor
Yushchenko. It is not fortuitous that Grishchenko, one week after he was
appointed to the post of Foreign Minister on March 11, arrives in Moscow
where previously he headed Ukraine's Embassy.
The sides intend to discuss matters of current importance concerning
Russo-Ukrainian cooperation, primarily that in the energy sector. Foreign
experts have already expressed hope that, following the election of Viktor
Yanukovich to the presidency, "gas wars" between Moscow and Kiev would
recede into the past.
The two Foreign Ministers are also to devote much attention to the
preparation of Dmitry Medvedev's visit. Viktor Yanukovich said earlier
that he hoped that joint decisions would be made in conjunction "with the
Russian President during his visit to our country". He pointed out that
Medvedev is expected in Kiev in the first half of 2010.
It is not ruled out that Lavrov and Grishchenko will also touch upon
matters connected with the holding of a joint session of the
Russo-Ukrainian interstate commission.

Minister of Telecom and Mass Communications, is to sum up the results of
the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Alexander Popov,
the inventor of radio, in the Urals on Tuesday.
An official in the press service of the Uralsvyazinform Company, which

of the celebration of last year's 150th anniversary of the birth of Popov,
is to be held in the mode of a videoconference. The Communications

devised by him, at a meeting of the Russian Physico-Chemical Society. That
day went down in the history of the world's science and technology as the
