INDONESIAN FINED FOR USING MALAYSIAN IC TO GET JOB




KUALA LUMPUR, March 16 (Bernama) -- An Indonesian woman was fined RM1,000
(US$302) by the Magistrate's Court here today for using a Malaysian identity
card to get a job.

Mokiah Kasan, 31, pleaded guilty to cheating Ahmad Shahnon Abu Mansor, 40,
by deceiving him into believing that she was a Malaysian with an identity card
bearing the name Elly Sumiati Mariana Endang Mulyadi.

The offence was committed at the Willows florist shop, Bangsar Shopping
Centre, here between Dec 1 and 31, 2008.

The offence carries a maximum seven years jail or fine or both.

Mokiah was represented by counsel Mohd Shamril Afzan Mohamed Hasim while
deputy public prosecutor appeared for the prosecution.
