India is of the view that unfolding of the future
scenario in Afghanistan remains largely dependent on US
strategies, developments in Pakistan and the manner of
reconciliation between moderates and radicals.

Giving details of the various projects in Afghanistan,
the officials said India has pledged assistance of USD 1.2
billion which includes major infrastructure projects such as
construction of Salma Dam power project (42 MW) in Herat
province to be completed in 2011.
Restoration of telecommunication infrastructure in 11
provinces has already been completed.
Asked if India would like to a have a joint strategy
with Russia and Iran on Afghanistan, the officials said the
country's developmental work was standalone though it may have
a common view on terrorism with other countries. PTI PYK
