4.3-MAGNITUDE QUAKE FELT IN WONOSARI

Yogyakarta, Mar 22 (ANTARA - A 4.3-magnitude tectonic quake was felt by the people in the part of Wonosari city, Gunungkidul regency, Yogyakarta, on Sunday at 10.21 pm local time.

According to the head of the data and information division of the Yogyakarta Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Toni A Wijaya, the quake's epicenter was located at a depth of 28 kilometers, coordinates 8.66 south latitude and 110.52 east longitude, 78 kilometers northwest of Wonosari city, Gunungkidul.

He said the tremor did not have the potential to trigger a tsunami. "It shocks were felt not only in Wonosari, but in Pacitan (East Java) and environs as well," he said.
