PRESIDENT YUDHOYONO LEADS CABINET MEETING OVER CENTURY CASE

Jakata, March 22 (ANTARA) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is to hold an internal meeting with his cabinet members here on Monday about the House of Representatives' recommendation over Century bank case, a spokesman said.

Before an Assembly Meeting, the House of Representatives had concluded that there was an irregularity in the government through the Deposit Insurance Corporation's (LPS) decision to give Rp6.7 trillion in bailout fund to Bank Century.

"It will be a closed door meeting. Some ministers and high officials are asked to give a respond over the house's recommendation which will be handed over and discussed with the president today," the presidential spokesman, Julian Pasha, said here on Monday.

However, he did not mention whether the president would make an official statement on the case after the meeting.

"It is an internal meeting. The result may be announced publicly or not," he said adding that some of the ministers asked for their recommendation over the Bank Century case.
