JUDICIAL MAFIA FIGHTERS TO MEET POLICE CHIEF, ATTORNEY GENERAL
Jakarta, March 22 (ANTARA) - The government's Judicial Mafia Eradication Task Force will hold meetings with the national police chief and the attorney general about alleged case brokering practices at the police institution, a spokesman said.
"We will coordinate and communicate with the national police chief and the attorney general. I have asked for a meeting with them. We plan to go to the police tomorrow at 8 am for an internal meeting and will be continued to the attorney general's office in the afternoon to find the most effective way to deal with the practices," the task force's secretary, Deny Indrayana, said at the presidential office here Monday.
He said the task force had taken the initiative following alleged case brokering cases in the police force as claimed recently by former national police chief detective Commissioner General Susno Duadji.
Susno had disclosed an alleged case brokering case linked to a huge amount of funds connected with a tax official known by his initials as GT that was investigated by the police.
The police had denied Susno's allegation and stated that Susno had made a false accusation against and slandered a number of police officers.
Deny said President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono had not given any response to the case as it was still being verified.
"I have not reported it to him but he through the media has certainly known about it. It is still to be verified. Today Susno is to be summoned by the police," he said.
