JAKARTA POLICE RAID ECSTASY PLANT AT HOUSING COMPLEX



Jakarta, March 23 (ANTARA) - Jakarta police raided an ecstasy and meth plant in a housing complex in West Jakarta on Tuesday.

"The plant can produce 300 ecstasy pills and 25 grams of methamphetamine a day," the Jakarta police chief, Inspector General Wahyono, said at Citra 2 Extension Housing Complex in Kalideres, which is the location of the house used for producing the illegal drugs.

He said initially the police seized a drug maker, Anthony Wijaya alias Hakim and later got an information about the house that was used for producing the drugs.

Before arresting Hakim, the police had monitored the house for two months but they had problems entering the house because the owner had never opened the door.

Finally the police had an opportunity to raid into the house when a friend of the suspect, Ang Yin Hua alias Leonardi, came there to meet Hakim.

Wahyono said his men had confiscated materials for evidence such as ecstasy pills and meth materials worth Rp160 billion.

The materials for evidence include 50,000 ecstasy pills, epedrine (1,000 pills), Ivanes (400 bottles), dektrometorpam (2,000 pills), ecstasy main materials weighing 30 kilograms, NMMDA (60 kgs), alcohol (eight litres), aceton (three litres), methanol (35 litres), Hegyieglicol (12 litres), syntholain (three litres) and a set of equipment for producing ecstasy.

Substances for making meth confiscated by the police include caustic soda (0.5 kilogram), iodine (five bottles), zincioksidum (two bottles), CMC Daichi (five bottles), Nicotinnamid (two bottles), bicarbonat (a bottle), acidukm borcuim (a bottle), cofersulphate (a bottle) and a set of equipment for making the meth.

The suspect is facing a maximum imprisonment of 20 years.
