MALAYSIAN OPPOSITION LEADER TO CLARIFY ALLEGATIONS ON "1ISRAEL"

KUALA LUMPUR, March 23 (Bernama) -- Opposition leader Anwar
Ibrahim will clarify his allegation that the government's 1Malaysia concept is
akin to the Israeli regime's '1Israel' next Tuesday.

People's Justice Party (Parti Keadilan Rakyat - PKR) vice-president R.
Sivarasa said House Representatives deputy speaker Ronald Kiandee slotted
11.30am after question time next Tuesday for Anwar to give his explanation.

The People's Justice Party (Malay: Parti Keadilan Rakyat, often known simply
as Keadilan) is a centrist political party in Malaysia formed in 2003 by a
merger of the National Justice Party and the older Malaysian People's Party.

Kiandee agreed to allow Anwar have his say after he wrote a letter to the
deputy speaker, requesting a slot to explain the issue, Sivarasa told reporters
at the parliament lobby here Tuesday.

Earlier, Anwar and Sivarasa met the deputy speaker for 15 minutes.

Asked why Anwar would only give his explanation next Tuesday and not this
week, Sivarasa, who is also Member of Parliament for Subang, said Anwar could
not make it this week due to his tight schedule.

Kiandee on Monday gave Anwar one week to clarify the allegations.
