United Russia & CPC agree to contribute to RF-PRC partnership.
MOSCOW, March 23 (Itar-Tass) - The dialogue between the United Russia
Party and the Communist Party of China will be new grounds for the
development of relations of strategic partnership between the two nations,
agreed on Tuesday at a meeting chairman of the Supreme Council of United
Russia Boris Gryzlov and member of the Standing Committee of the Political
Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Chinese Vice-President Xi Jiping,
now on a visit in Russia at the head of a Chinese delegation.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the second meeting of the
inter-party Dialogue. However, as Gryzlov told reporters, the sides
discussed also interstate cooperation, above all in the economy and the
humanitarian sphere.
The sides discussed specific projects in the sphere of economic
cooperation, said Gryzlov. For instance, this is construction of a
Skovorodino-China oil pipeline which will be a siding of the East
Siberia-Pacific oil pipeline. They also discussed a chance of building a
gas pipeline, the second stage of the Tianwan nuclear power station as
well as a demonstration reactor on fast neutrons.
As for humanitarian cooperation, the Year of Chinese Language in
Russia, opening even this Tuesday, will be the main event of the meeting.
Besides, China and Russia will jointly celebrate the 65th anniversary of
the Victory over Nazi Germany in 2010. "This is our common victory,"
Gryzlov said.
The speaker of the Russian State Duma praised the level of
Interparliamentary cooperation. He reported that the fourth meeting of the
Grand Interparliamentary Commission would be held in Beijing late in May.
According to Gryzlov, the exchange of opinions on the operation of
United Russia and the CPC as the ruling parties evoked the greatest
interest.
In turn, Xi also called the meeting very fruitful. "A great positive
result has been achieved," he said.
According to the Chinese vice-president, Chinese-Russian relations are
at an unheard-of high level. "Our relations have become one of the most
vigorous and substantive, and they can be justly called a sample of
relations between countries of the world," he emphasised. "Against the
backdrop of tempestuous transformations and deep changes in the
international situation, favourable Russian-Chinese relations are of great
importance."
"We have concurred in the opinion," Xi continued, " that the sides
will contribute, in future too, to the development of Russian-Chinese
relations of strategic partnership." He is convinced that expansion of
cooperation and greater mutual support of the two ruling parties are
capable of "ensuring long-term, stable and healthy development of
relations between the two nations against the background of already
achieved great results".
Exchange of experience and partnership between the two parties will
help to develop further cooperation between the two countries, Xi said
with conviction. "Our cooperation can become new grounds for the
development of our relations of strategic partnership and play a unique
role in developing relations between the two nations," he went on to say.
The first meeting of representatives from the two parties in the
Dialogue format was held in Beijing last year where the sides concluded an
agreement on inter-party cooperation. In the meantime, relations between
the two parties had started back in 2004 when the first inter-party
document had been signed.
On Tuesday, the Chinese vice-president will also meet United Russia
leader and Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.
