YEMEN, INDIA TO BOOST UP SECURITY JOINT COOPERATION
SANA'A, March 24 (Saba) - Yemen and India agreed here on Wednesday
on forming joint technical committees to discuss security mutual
cooperation.
In the conclusion of the 7th round's meetings of the Yemeni-Indian
ministerial committee, they also agreed on holding the committee's
meetings alternately in the two countries' capitals.
Yemen and India also approved after two-day meetings enhancing
cooperation in areas of judiciary, security, health, oil and gas in
addition to encouraging the private sectors in the two countries to
establish shared investments.
During the closing meeting co-chaired by Deputy Minister of Planning
and International Cooperation Hisham Sharaf and Indian Secretary
(east) of External Affaires Latha Reddy, Yemen and India agreed on
increasing scholarships of Yemeni students in Indian universities to
50 yearly in addition to found a Yemeni-Indian friendship
association.
The tow sides also agreed on enhancing commercial cooperation via
exchanging trade delegation visits, organizing joint exhibitions and
holding a semi-yearly meeting to follow-up the joint action plan
that aims to advance the trade and investment bilateral level.
After signing the closing minutes of the 7th round meetings, Sharaf
welcomed the Indian investments, particularly in oil and information
technology, affirming the government's keenness on offering all
facilities available in the Yemeni investment law.
