YEMEN AFFIRMS IMPORTANCE TO ADOPT COMPREHENSIVE STRATEGY ON SOMALIA SITUATION

GENEVA, March 24 (Saba)- Yemen has affirmed the importance of approving an inclusive strategy to treat the political, security and economic situations in Somalia in a way to help build the state of Somalia to enable it to bear its national and international responsibility and to contribute to establishing the international peace and security.

These remarks were made by Yemen permanent representative to the UN, Ibrahim al-Adoufi, in his statement Wednesday in front of the Human Rights Council in Geneva in a discussion over human rights situation in the war-torn and poverty-stricken Somalia.

The statement reviewed efforts have been exerted by Yemen for decades to help solve the Somali problem.

It called the international community to shoulder their responsibility in building institutions of Somalia.
