POLICE ARREST TWO TAIWANESE FOR KEEPING 9 KG METH
Jakarta, March 24 (ANTARA) - Jakarta police have arrested two Taiwanese known as Sun Wei Yu alias A Wei and Wen Chian Wei alias Wei Wei for keeping nine kilograms of methamphetamine illegally.
The director of anti-narcotic drugs of the Jakarta Police Command, Senior Commissioner Anjan P Putra said here on Wednesday the two were seized in a raid at Room 1007 at Hayam Wuruk Apartment in West Jakarta on Tuesday.
The two confessed possessing three plastic bags of meth each weighing three grams kept at Hotel Astika Room 417 on Jalan Mangga Besar 76 in West Jakarta.
Further investigation discovered the two also kept a glass of "erlenmeyer" and a blue plastic cup at Mediterania Marina Residence Tower D Room D/30/AD on Jalan Lodan Raya, North Jakarta.
The police later checked Mediterania Marina Residence Tower D Room D/23/BA on the 23rd floor and discovered 33 plastic bags of meth totally weighing nine kilograms and 5,000 ecstacy pills.
Anjan said the meth was worth Rp12.6 billion while the ecstacy Rp1.5 billion consumable by 26,000 people.
The two are facing a death penalty or life imprisonment because of their act.
On Tuesday the Jakarta police raided a house at Citra 2 Extension Block BB 2 in Kalideres, West Jakarta, which has been used to produce ecstacy pills and arrested Anthone Wijaya alias Hakim as suspect in the case.
In the raid the police confiscated 50,000 ecstacy pills, meth and the raw materials for making them worth Rp167 billion.***
