ISLAMIST POLITICAL PARTY SUPPORTS CALLS FOR OIC MEETING ON ISRAELI AGGRESSION

KUALA LUMPUR, March 25 (Bernama) -- An Islamist political party in Malaysia
Wednesday expressed support for calls by the representatives of three member
states of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) to convene an
emergency meeting of the OIC to discuss action against Israeli aggression in
Al-Quds.

The Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party, commonly known as PAS president Abdul Hadi
Awang said in a statement that Israeli aggression against the al-Aqsa Mosque
went beyond the sanity of human civilisation.

Syrian Parliament Speaker Mahmoud a-Abrash, Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali
Larijani and Turkish Parliament Speaker Mehmet Ali Sahin urged the OIC to hold
an emergency meeting to discuss effective measures against the Zionist
aggression against holy sites and Palestinian civilians.

PAS, together with People's Justice Party (Parti KeADILan Rakyat - PKR), and
Democratic Action Party (known as DAP) formed part of a coalition called
People's Alliance following the 2008 election.
