5.1-MAGNITUDE QUAKE STRIKES NORTH MALUKU
Bandarlampung, Indonesia, March 26 (ANTARA) - A 5.1-magnitude quake shook Ternate, North Maluku, on Friday at 0.53 am local time.
The tremor's epicenter was located 58 kilometers northwest of Ternate, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said, adding that the quake was located at coordinates 0.57 northern latitude and 126.89 eastern longitude, at a depth of 10 kilometers, but did not have a potential to cause a tsunami.
The epicenter was also located 148 kilometers northwest of Labuha, North Maluku, 212 kilometers southeast of Bitung, North Sulawesi, 249 kilometers southeast of Manado, N Sulawesi, and 2,351 kilometers east of Jakarta.***
