OVER 40 PEOPLE DIED DUE TO TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS IN WEEK



SANA'A, March 27 (Saba) - Nearly 41 people were killed and other 336 were injured, 222 of them with serious injuries, due to traffic accidents taken place allover Yemen last week.

According to official statistics, about 226 accidents were registered during the previous week including 147 crash accidents, 81 running over, 32 vehicles' overturning and about six falling accidents.

The losses of such accidents were estimated to be YR 38,066,000, the report highlighted.

The capital Sana'a topped the list with 101 accidents causing the death of 6 people, then Taiz with 32 accidents killing 11 people.

Hodeidah took the third rank and registered 24 accidents claiming the lives of 9 people and Aden province with 17 accidents killing 4 people.

The source showed that the reasons behind these accidents were the excessive speed, carelessness, technical defaults and wrong overtaking.
