Pak court orders release of two Indians
Peshawar, Mar 29 (PTI) Two Indian nationals, arrested by
Pakistani authorities for entering Chitral region of North
West Frontier Province without valid documents, have been
released on the orders of a local court, official sources said
today.
Ayaz Ahmed, a resident of Mumbai, and Nasir Ahmed from
Gujarat were arrested by police last week in the main bazar of
Chitral.
They had visas to visit Buner district but had no legal
documents or permission to visit the Chitral region.
In its order, the court said that the two men should be
released and sent back to Buner since they had visas to visit
that district.
They were shifted to Buner after the court gave its
order.
Police had registered a case under the Foreigners Act
against the two men after arresting them on March 24.
One of the Indians told police that they came to Chitral
to "find a wife with the help of their local friend".
The two men were living with their relative Muhammad
Imran in Buner.
They are expected to return home on April 10, while their
visas are valid till April 14. PTI
