CLEAN HANDs SAVE LIVES CAMPAIGN TO BENEFIT 48,000 STUDENTS
KUALA LUMPUR, April 1 (Bernama ) -- The "Clean Hands Save Lives" campaign
launched by the Sungai Buloh Hospital and a soap company Thursday is expected to
benefit over 48, 000 students in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.
Sungai Buloh Hospital director Dr Khalid Ibrahim said he targeted 30 schools
to participate in the campaign throughout the month.
"We are focusing on the young generation and children because emphasis on
early education and keeping hands clean is the best way to reduce the spread of
diseases.
"This is because 80 per cent of diseases like the Influenza A H1NI are
spread through hands," he told reporters at the launch of the campaign at the
hospital attended by over 300 teachers and students.
