Kovalchuk said that within a three-month deadline Inter RAO would
lease to Venezuela two gas turbines with an aggregate capacity of 50

.Russian consortium may join development of Venezuela's oil blocks.
CARACAS, April 3 (Itar-Tass) -- Russia and Venezuela have signed a
protocol of intent to include Russia's National Oil Consortium in the plan
for the development of the Ayacucho-2, Ayacucho-3 and Junin-3 oil blocks.
The National Oil Consortium, consisting of five Russian companies, was
established for the Junin-6 project. However, it had not been ruled out
from the outset that it might be invited to join other projects.
Junin-3 is a large oil field constituting part of the heavy crude
Orinoco river oil belt. It measures 640 square kilometers in area. Experts
say its geological reserves contain 2.5 billion tonnes of crude oil.
Ayacucho-3 is estimated by Russian specialists at one billion tonnes,
but the recoverable reserves do not exceed 170-180 million tonnes, because
oil there is of very high viscosity. Venezuela says Ayacucho-3 is as big
as five billion tonnes of oil.
Exploration at the Ayacucho-2 deposit is still in progress.
Russia's National Oil Consortium was established by LUKOIL,
Surgutneftegaz, TNK-BP, Rosneft and Gazpromneft.
