YEMEN, GERMANY TO STRENGTHEN EDUCATIONAL PROCESS

SANA'A, April 04 (Saba)- Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Saleh Ba-Surra discussed on Sunday with Director of the Second Component of the German Program to Improve Higher Education aspects of developing education process in Yemen.

During the meeting, Ba-Surra affirmed the importance of developing higher education through the development of programs and curricula of education colleges totaled 32 in various governorates of Yemen.

He stressed the need for evaluation of previous programs in the College of Education before launching the development program which will contribute to the standardization of teacher education programs in various faculties of education.

He talked about the importance of integrating issues of democracy, human rights, refugee rights, general culture, politics, reproductive health and democratic environment in the teaching programs, praising the support of Germany and the World Bank in the area of academic exchange.

For her part, the German official expressed readiness of her organization to contribute to developing the higher education projects in Yemen, affirming desire of the German side in supporting teacher training through collaboration with the ministries of education and higher education in Yemen.

She also expressed willingness to work during the coming period on the implementation of the project of "Classroom Teacher" to develop education process in Yemen.
