YEMEN, US DISCUSS CONSOLIDATING EFFORTS TO COMBAT TERRORISM



SANA'A, April 05 (Saba) - Yemen and US discussed here on Monday
aspects of mutual cooperation in consolidating joint efforts to
combat terrorist acts.

Chief of General Staff Ahmed al-Ashwal and the American ambassador
to Yemen Stephen Seche talked about cooperation in fields of
rehabilitation and training as well as information exchange and
means of promoting them to serve the Yemeni-American common
interests.

Al-Ashwal praised the current cooperation between the two countries'
armies particularly in rehabilitation and preparation areas,
appreciating the efforts exerted by the officials in the US embassy
in order to enhance the cooperation and joint efforts.

In return, the American diplomat affirmed his country's keenness to
develop the principle of the Yemeni-American partnership to face the
international terrorism and secure the region.

He also noted to the active role of Yemen in succeeding any related
efforts due to its distinctive location and its effective position.
