AL-ALIMI MEETS UN SPECIAL REPRESENTATIVE

SANA'A, April 05 (Saba) - Deputy Prime Minister for Security and
Defense Affairs Rashad al-Alimi met here on Monday with the
representative of the United Nations Secretary-General on Human
Rights of Internally Displaced Persons, Walter K lin.

In the meeting, the two sides discussed a number of issues relating
to the continued efforts to provide food and humanitarian aid to the
displaced people due to the rebellion and sabotage war in Saada
province and Harf Sufian district, Amran province.

Al-Alimi affirmed the government's readiness to offer all facilities
for the organizations and tackle any difficulties that may hinder
the work of the UN office for displaced people, so as to ensure
presenting the services and relief to the displaced.

For his part, the UN official praised the government efforts in
helping the displaced people and the level of the services provided
to them and in offering all facilities for the UN office and the
organizations working in the humanitarian field.

He noted in this regard in cooperation and coordination between
local authorities and international organizations to alleviate the
suffering of displaced persons and the delivery of various aid to
them.
