MINISTRY, BERNAMA TO LAUNCH BOOK ON FORMER PM TUN ABDULLAH WEDNESDAY

KUALA LUMPUR, April 6 (Bernama) -- The Information Communication and Culture Ministry and the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) will launch a coffee table book on former prime minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, titled "Pak Lah", Wednesday.

Bernama Photo Marketing Manager Azizul Ahmad said the book contained
pictures of Abdullah attending official functions as the country's fifth Prime
Minister between 2003 and last year as well as personal events during the
period.

Abdullah and wife Jeanne Abdullah will be the guests of honour at
the launching and they will be accompanied by Information Communication and
Culture Minister Dr Rais Yatim.

"The book is in recognition of his contribution to the country and to foster
understanding towards the country's history among Malaysians," he told Bernama.

The 308-page book is in dual-language -- Malay and English -- and has seven
chapters namely Constitutional Monarchy, Family, Politics, Social Activities,
Media and International Relations.

Azizul said the book is tentatively priced at RM200 each (US$62.5). For the
time
being, however, the book is in limited and exclusive edition.

The public are invited to the launch at Auditorium Perdana, Angkasapuri, at
10.30am.
