Leading Lao and Thai banks further cooperation
VIENTIANE,6 APRIL (KPL) -Lao Development Bank of Lao PDR and Small and Medium Enterprise Bank of Thailand have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enlarge technical cooperation on business operation.
A MOU signing ceremony was held in Luang Prabang province on Monday.
The signatures to document were the General Director of Lao Development Bank, Ms. Bounta Daravy and the General Director of SME Bank, Mr. Soroth Konvisara.
The MOU is to further follow up the first memorandum of understanding signed in 2008 which just finished in February this year.
Under the MOU is to exchange study tour among senior officials of the two banks, information exchange and personnel development and cooperation. The SME Bank will help to train staff of Lao Development Bank regarding “banking”.
Ms. Bounta said that, “the previous bilateral cooperation proved a great success including exchange lessons, training course and customers service.
Mr. Kongdesa Sayalath, Director General of Bank of the Lao PDR’s Luang Prabang branch, Deputy General Director of Lao Development Bank, Mr. Boualieng Phommavongsa and relevant sectors from both sides were present in the ceremony.
