WORLD WAR II CONFERENCE TO HELD AT KLCC ON MAY 13

KUALA LUMPUR, April 8 (Bernama) -- An international conference on World War
II, which focuses on the horrors of wars and the need for peace on a global
scale, will be held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) here on May 13.

The one-day conference on "World War II & The Rise of Multilateralism" is
organised by an online news portal, "Wfol.tv' World Future Online, in
collaboration with its partners.

Its aim is to stop speculations about the atrocities committed by the
aggressors and put a halt to attempts at rewriting the World War II history and
to create awareness that all the wars are damaging.

"The lessons learned from that terrible war should help contain the outbreak
of yet another deadly devastating conflict that could easily become the World
War III," Kazi Mahmood, the organiser of the conference, said in a statement
here Thursday.

The conference will debate the impact the World War II on independence
movements in Southeast Asia on the whole and in Malaysia in particular.
