YEMEN SIGNS WB GRANTS
CAIRO, April 09 (Saba) – Yemen and the World Bank signed on Friday in Egypt's capital of Cairo two grant agreements worth approximately $ 55 million.
The first grant would be directed for improving basic services at some populated communities in some urban in the western province of Taiz and the second will be used for financing the project of port cities development, the first phase.
The second project project aims at improving access to and efficiency of infrastructure basic services in Yemeni port cities, Aden, Mukalla and Hodeida.
Seaports in the cities will be developed as well.
The two deals were signed by Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Minister for Planning and International Cooperation, Abdul Karim Al-Arhabi and WB Madhu Raghunath, Local Development Specialist, Deepali Tewari, Senior Municipal Development Specialist.
The two sides also agreed that the bank will send a mission to evaluate the situation in Saada for starting the reconstruction.
