PM values UN humanitarian aid for IDPs


SANA'A, April 10 (Saba)-Prime Minister Ali Mujawar valued on Saturday role of the United Nations to support efforts of the United Nations in offering humanitarian assistance for camps of the displaced people.

During his meeting with envoy of United Nations Secretary General for Internally Displaced Persons IDPs Walter Kaelin, the prime minister affirmed importance of the donors support for the humanitarian activities toward IDPs and rebuilding damaged regions due to sedition in Saada province.

In the meeting, they discussed coordination between Yemen and UN agencies as well as other international organizations to help in returning IDPs to their homes.

They also discussed a suggestion presented by the United Nations to prepare a comprehensive strategy over offering all required needs to return of IDPs, remove landmines and rebuild affected regions.

For his part, the UN official highlighted efforts of the Yemeni government in running the IDPs camps, affirming concern of the United Nations to support efforts of the Yemeni government to return IDPs back to their homes.

He said that the UN would urge donors to present required support for the government in its humanitarian efforts in Saada.
