Yemeni youth leaders exchange experiences in leadership
SANA'A, April 11 (Saba) -
Save the Children organization, USAID-funded SIRAJ Project, is to launch on Monday
the national
gathering for SIRAJ of the Month for youth leadership since 2007 - 2010 in Sana'a.
A press release issued by the organization said that the three-day gathering aims
to present the individual and group success stories of 33 youth leaders from all
Yemeni
governorates that were funded by SIRAJ project, They were supported as they have
been models for their communities through their contribution in developing and
making a change.
The outcome of the gathering is to produce a documentary film used as an advocacy
tool for the role of youth in developing their communities as they are the future
leaders.
In addition, Save the Children organization will fund some Youth initiatives and
activities according to the geographical areas and youth needs, according to the
press release.
Country Director of Save the Children organization in Yemen Andrew Moore ensured
the importance of Youth role in making a change in their communities.
"We recognize the great opportunity of engaging youth in defining their futures and
that of their communities and society at large" Moore stated, considering the youth
success
stories as real examples of their capacity in recognizing and building on their
assets and strengths, such as their remarkable resilience, energy, and ambitions.
Save the Children organization works towards the protection, fulfillment and
respect for all young people's right to participation in decisions and mainly Youth
empowerment
that affect their lives.
