Yemen ends season of catching Shrimp in Red Sea
SANA'A, April 11 (Saba) - Ministry
of Fisheries Wealth announced on Sunday closing the season of fishing shrimps in the
Yemen's
regional waters in the Red Sea as from April 14th, 2010 until further notice.
The ministry stressed the obligation of those, who are practicing fishing shrimps,
to abide by the decision, affirming that it would take the legal procedures against
any
violator.
The ministry attributed the shrimp fishing season's shut to the shrimp
proliferation period which will start on April in the Red Sea.
The ministry urged its offices in the provinces to implement a comprehensive
inventory of the quantities of shrimps caught by the fishermen and licensed boats
as well as
the quantities stored in refrigerators and to report the results to the ministry
within a week from the decision date.
