Gough Whitlam released from hospital
Former Labor prime minister Gough Whitlam has been released from a Sydney hospital after receiving treatment for more than two weeks.
Mr Whitlam, 91, was on Friday discharged from Sydney's St Vincent's Private Hospital in a satisfactory condition, a hospital spokesman said.
The spokesman would not comment any further on Mr Whitlam's condition, nor why he had needed treatment.
Prime Minister Kevin Rudd visited the iconic Labor figure at the end of last month, saying: "We had a good yak". "Gough was full of advice, as he normally is on each occasion I meet him," Mr Rudd
told reporters on June 30.
Mr Whitlam was prime minister from 1972 to 1975.
