Yemen, WB, EU review 5th fish projects
SANA'A, April 15 (Saba) - Yemen, World Bank
(WB) and European Union (EU) reviewed here on Wednesday with the progress in the
implementation
of the various projects under the Fifth Fish Project.
Minister of Fisheries Wealth Mohammed Shamlan discussed with the delegations of WB
and EU the difficulties hindering the implementation of the projects.
During the meeting, WB Officer of Rural Development, Water and Environment Naji Abu
Hatim and the EU delegation's members briefed the Minister on the WB-EU-funded
programs
and training courses carried out by fifth fish project for quality laboratories'
cadres in governorates of Aden, Hadramout and Hodeidah.
They said that the aid granted by donors focuses on completing fishery
infrastructure in the coastal governorates and studying the fish stock, affirming
the importance of
creating an affective management for such projects to guarantee its along-term
continuance to provide services for fishermen.
The implementation of EU-funded project of fish information unit was also reviewed
in the meeting. The purpose of the unit is to collect fishery-related information
from
daily, monthly and yearly reports submitted by information centers to the unit
including sells, production quantities and fish revenues.
