INTERNATIONAL SPEAKERS AT CONFERENCE ON WORLD WAR TWO
KUALA LUMPUR, April 17 (Bernama) -- Four renowned international speakers will speak at an international conference on World War Two, which will be held in Malaysia for the first time, next month.
The organising committee chairman, Kazi Mahmood, said that among them are
Professor Hasan Yahya from the United States, who will speak on the World War
Two and its impact on Palestine.
Besides him, Zakaria Abdullah from the Philippines will talk on the World
War Two and the Mindanao independence movements at the one-day conference, to be
held on May 13 here.
Also in the list of speakers at the conference are Professor Albert Jansen
of Netherlands and George Katsiaficas of the United States and several speakers
from Malaysia.
"It is important especially for the younger generation to know about this
war, its impact on the people such as the Palestinians...and how it has changed
the world's political landscape," Kazi told Bernama Saturday.
Kazi said the conference on "World War Two and the Rise of Multilateralism"
is organised by the World Future online, an online news portal and the
conference among others aimed at creating awareness about wars and its impact on
world society.
The World War Two (1939-1945), described as the most widespread war and the
deadliest military conflict in history with more than 100 million military
personnel mobilised and over 60 million people killed.
