Minister of Technical Education meets JICA's mission

SANA'A, April 17 (Saba)- Minister of Technical Education and Vocational Training Ibrahim Hajri met on Saturday with the
Japanese Agency of International Cooperation(JICA)'s mission for improving technical education system.

They discussed the progress in the implementation of the project to create the cars
maintenance and electricity section in Dhahban Institute in Sana'a at a cost of USD
4
million.
In the meeting, the two sides reviewed the performance of the project and its
importance in making a qualitative leap in the development of the technical
education and
vocational training to meet the needs of market and to cope with the developments
and changes witnessed by the world in various fields.
They stressed the importance of commitment to the project's plan and timetable,
which is expected to be launched during the next school year 2010-2011.
The project would represent an example of the technical cooperation between the
JICA and the Ministry of Technical Education and Vocational Training, they
indicated.
The project aims to establish a cars maintenance section in the Technical and
Industrial Institute in Dahban and to train the employees, students and teachers.
The JICA in collaboration with the ministry seeks to develop a training program and
improve the capacity of the main office in the capital Sana'a, as well as to
establish
a network of public and private partnership in the field of cars maintenance in
cooperation with the private sector.
