President Saleh receives letter from Russian president
SANA'A, April 17
(Saba)-President Ali Abdullah Saleh received on Saturday a letter from his Russian
counterpart Dmitriy
Medvedev.
The letter was handed over by the Russian First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs
Andrey Denisov during his meeting with president Saleh in Sana'a.
In his letter, the Russian president affirmed rejection of Russia for any
intervention in the internal affairs of Yemen, pointing out to membership of Russia
in Yemen Friends
Group.
The president confirmed support of his country for unity, stability and security of
Yemen, indicating to cooperation in trade between the two nations.
He also affirmed concern of Russia to boost its military cooperation with Yemen,
especially in combating terrorism and extremism.
For his part, president Saleh highlighted good level of the Yemeni-Russian
relationship, affirming concern of Yemen to enhance historical ties with Russia.
He valued position of Russia in supporting the development process in Yemen and its
unity, welcoming Russian investments in Yemen.
President Saleh asked the Russian official to convey a reply letter to the Russian
president in which he wished him good health and further prosperity and progress
for the
Russian people.
