Deputy PM visits Central Highlands Dak Lak province
Dak Lak (VNA) - Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan has asked Central Highlands Dak Lak provincial authorities to pay more attention to agriculture promotion, especially in ethnic areas.
During his working visit to the province on July 5-6, Deputy PM Nhan also
instructed Dak Lak to improve the living conditions of ethnic people and
preserve ethnic cultural traditions.
According to Provincial People's Committee Chairman Lu Ngoc Cu, despite
unfavourable weather and price hike, the provincial gross domestic product
value saw a year-on-year rise of almost 21 percent in the first half of
2008, fulfilling over 70 percent of its yearly plan.
The province also attained high outputs in long-term industrial crops, such
as rubber, coffee and pepper, helping it earn over 410 million USD from
exports, the provincial leader said.
The Deputy PM visited Kram village in Cu Kuin district, 32 Ede ethnic
families who are working at the April 30 rubber plantation of the Dak Lak
Rubber Company and the Central Highlands Ethnic Youth Vocational Training
