Death toll from cafe blast in Abkhazia reaches 4

SUKHUMI, July 7 (Itar-Tass) - Two more victims of a cafe bomb
explosion in the town of Gal in Abkhazia have died of wounds in hospital.

They are an interpreter of the Gali branch of the United Nations mission
and an Abkhazian border guard, Ruslan Kishmariya, the presidential envoy
of the unrecognized Republic of Abkhazia, told reporters on Monday.

As a result, the total death toll from the blast has reached four
people. Earlier, the acting chief of the Gali branch of the State Security
Service and a local woman also died of wounds. Another six victims are in
hospital.

The explosion roared in a cafe in the centre of Gal at 22:58 Moscow
time on Sunday.

The Abkhazian authorities regard it as a terrorist act directed
against law enforcers in the Gali region. Its aim is to destabilize the
situation in the breakaway province.
