PM affirms state's interest in teachers

SANA'A, April 21 (Saba) - Prime Minister Ali Mujawar affirmed on Wednesday the state's interest in teachers due to the important
role they play in the educational process.

During the honoring celebration organized by Ministry of Education on the occasion
of the Teacher Day, Mujawar said that this interest appears in many shapes through
the
scientific and professional preparation for teachers taking in account the
developments in the education ways so as to meet the needs of students and the
society.
"The government is working to complete the application of the wages strategy and to
give teachers allowances and to encourage the union of teachers and thus improve
their
performance and enhance their professional and social status", Mujawar said.
If education is the key to development and the basis for progress and change, the
teacher is the active ingredient in the educational process and is a cornerstone
and an
important factor for its success or failure, he added.
The premier said that the efforts made by the State in order to promote education
and improve its quality are large and they have achieved significant results in the
physical
and human aspects.
Furthermore, the premier urged the need to highlight the bright national and
cultural dimensions of Yemen unity and the comprehensive change it has achieved in
the conceptions
at the national level politically and socially as well as its great achievements in
various aspects of life.
Mujawar called on teachers to reflect the culture of love and harmony, dialogue,
and respect and create a spirit of innovation and creative scientific competition
among
students and promote democratic principles and to be a good model for students.
"Despite the achievements in this sector, but the educational reality still
reflects some deficiencies that must be addressed with seriousness and
responsibility by the
Ministry and the local authority", Mujawar pointed out.
He stressed the Ministry of Education to continue its programs to improve the level
of enrollment of girls in education and reduce dropout and promote the teacher's
performance
as well as the curriculum development.
The premier voiced his happiness to partake in this event to honor a number of
prominent teachers who represent the symbols to honor the other teachers as an
annual event
held by the Ministry of Education.
