Yemen to send list of 12 Arab organ trade suspects to Interpol

SANA'A, April 21
(Saba)- Yemen is to send a list of Arab suspects from different Arab nationalities
on charge
of trading with human organs to International Interpol to be then handed over to
Yemen for trial, Director of Yemeni Criminal Investigation Department Abu Bakr Saeed
told
26sep.net on Wednesday.
According to the statistics of the department, some 300 Yemenis are victims of such
trade, Saeed said.
On the other hand, a senior officer at the department Nabil Mohammed said that
there is a gang of doctors in one of Cairo hospitals involving in the surgical
operations
of getting human organs.
The group is headed by a Jordanian man who is working in that hospital, the officer
said.
He made it clear that the police arrested the Jordanian man, Ramzi Khalil, who
admitted that he was sent to Yemen to convince citizens in Sana'a, Taiz, and Aden
provinces
to sell their organs.
The officer added that Khalil funded expenses of traveling for the victims.
