YEMEN WORKERS DEMAND GOVT TO COMPLETE STAGES OF WAGES STRATEGY

SANA'A, April 22 (Saba)- The General Federation of Yemen Labor Unions demanded the government on Thursday to immediately implement the remaining stages of the strategy of salaries and wages and address the workers' issues.

This came during the meeting of Deputy Prime Minister for Local Authority Affairs Sadiq Amin Abu Ras with the leadership of the executive office of the general federation of Yemen labor unions to discuss issues, rights and legitimate demands of workers.

In the meeting , the participants agreed to form a committee from the government and the federation to deal with the right and legal demands of workers and render the results to the ministerial committee formed for this purpose within the few coming days in preparation for referring to the Cabinet.

Abu Ras affirmed the government's keenness to address the workers' issues and problems so as to meet their right demands according to the law, stressing that the demands should be in the framework of the law and constitution.

For her part, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Amat al-Razaq Humad considered the workers' issues one of the ministry issues, confirming that the ministry stands with the legitimate demands of workers.

At the meeting, head of the federation of Yemen labor unions Mohamed al-Jidri and a number of the executive office members reviewed concerns, issues and demands of the workers, noting that the federation is a key partner with the government in the process of reconstruction and development.

They also asserted that the workers are a tool for development and construction and social peace.
